The RAF Club
UX/UI and front-end development for the Royal Air Force Club, helping translate the character and heritage of a prestigious membership organisation into an effective digital experience.
Introduction
The Royal Air Force Club is a long-established private members’ club in London, with a distinctive identity built around its connection with the RAF and its history. Working on its digital presence required an approach that respected that heritage while providing members and visitors with a clear, contemporary online experience.
My involvement combined UX/UI considerations with front-end development, helping turn the project’s visual designs and content requirements into a usable website that could present the Club, its facilities and services effectively online.

Bringing Heritage into a Modern Digital Experience
The RAF Club has a strong identity shaped by its history, membership and connection with the Royal Air Force. An important consideration for the project was therefore how to preserve that character while presenting the organisation effectively through a modern website.
The digital experience needed to make information easy to find while allowing the imagery, content and visual design to communicate the distinctive nature of the Club.
Translating Design into a Working Interface
My involvement combined UX/UI considerations with front-end development, helping turn the creative designs into a practical working interface.
This required balancing visual presentation with usability and technical implementation. Navigation, page structure and content presentation all needed to work together so that members and prospective visitors could understand what the Club offered and find the information relevant to them.
Designing for the Organisation and Its Audience
The RAF Club project was another useful example of why successful websites cannot be approached simply as technical builds. The character of the organisation, the expectations of its audience and the purpose of the website all influence the appropriate digital solution.
That principle has remained central to my consultancy work: understand the organisation and its users first, then use design and technology to create an experience that supports both.
