London Borough of Culture 2019

Digital Direction – Web Design, had the pleasure of designing and building the website for The London Borough of Culture in 2018 – 2019 on behalf of The London Borough of Waltham Forrest.

The London Borough of Culture is an initiative launched by the Mayor of London, in 2018. It is a competition between the boroughs of London for the title of ‘Borough of Culture’. The winning borough is awarded funding to deliver a year-long programme of cultural events and initiatives. The aim of the initiative is to celebrate the unique character of London’s boroughs and their diverse communities.

The first borough to win the title of London Borough of Culture was Waltham Forest in 2019. The borough hosted a range of events throughout the year, including a welcome event attended by tens of thousands of people, a digital art project involving local schools, and a climate-themed festival.
